Happy New Year! Bring on 2017! We recently had snow here in Georgia ( which is a rare occasion- it was more black ice than snow) but we’ll take whatever we can get! 🙂 I am loving this Moto Jacket as it is perfect for the cooler temps that we had just after New Years. With every new year comes new resolutions. I think it is important to set goals on how to make this year your best yet. I know life gets busy and things don’t always turn out how you anticipated but that’s just life. Don’t let that scare or deter you away from your goals. Set goals and hold yourself accountable! I wanted to take a moment to share some of my 2017 resolutions:
Get Organized- I started 2017 by going through my closets in an attempt to de-clutter and I probably ended up taking 30% of my closet to Goodwill. It was actually relieving to get rid of stuff that I haven’t used and was just holding onto. I still have some items that I was unsure of whether or not to keep so when I was organizing my closet, I just placed all my hangers going the same way and once I wear them, I will put the hanger going the opposite way….and for the items that I don’t wear/use in 2017- they will be going by the end of this year. I figured I would need some sort of method to keep myself organized and this was the best that I could come up with for the time being!
Travel, Travel, Travel- Traveling isn’t always cheap and sometimes you have to save and budget for those expenses but traveling is an experience that you can’t really put a price tag on. This year my husband and I both made resolutions to travel more. So here’s to 2017 seeking adventure, traveling and creating new memories. We already have our trip booked for Charleston next month and we are working on planning our other trips for this year. I think we have 5 planned for now so it’s going to be a year of travel and I am looking forward to it. Traveling is always good for the soul!
Healthy Lifestyle/ Working Out- This is on everyone’s list, right? I want to workout more and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I normally workout 3 times a week and I haven’t seen the results that I would like. I know maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a work in progress but I would like to increase my workouts to 6-7 times a week and I can’t believe that I am really going to say this but I would like to workout in the mornings as well. I am NOT a morning person at all but I would like to be because I feel like my days would be more productive. My goal for 2017 is to become more of a morning person and do some of my workouts in the morning. Everyone who works out in the morning says it helps them feel more productive throughout the day. What am I waiting for? I just need someone physically to roll or push me out of bed at 6:00 a.m. for this to happen because I can’t ever wake up that early. I need that discipline in my life! Here’s to 2017 and being the best version of yourself and me becoming a morning person.
Read More/ Listen to Podcasts- I want to be better about spending free time that I have to reading or listening to podcasts as opposed to scrolling on social media. I am going to be honest and say that social media has been such a buzz kill lately with politics and everyone oversharing stuff. It’s just like…when is it too much? You go out to dinner and everyone is on their phone these days! I find myself doing it sometimes too and it’s the worst! I guarantee you if you were to ask my husband one thing that I do that annoys him- it will be that when i’m on scrolling on my phone without even realizing that I am doing it- just out of habit and not taking time to be present and enjoy the moments of real life not social media life and what others put on display for everyone to see. As much as I hate to admit that he’s right, he’s 100% right. It’s not just me- we all need to put down our phones sometimes and pay attention to the things that are going on around us and the people who are around us and all of life’s precious moments. So here’s to 2017 scrolling less and reading more ohh yah and listening to podcasts. If you listened to Serial, I heard that there’s a new one called Up and Vanished that is similar if you like true crime stories. It’s on the to check out list!
